Modern Church

The Modern "Church" in crisis

Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Galatians 5:16,17.
Many don't WANT to see what is needed to really follow Christ. It is a matter of sacrificing oneself, the "old flesh", which is not popular at all. No, they say, we must have confidence in ourselves and high self-esteem, which is more palatable. The church is following secular psychology rather than God's word.

They want to be entertained, or just think that attending a church and hear the word (whatever that may be) is enough to enter heaven. BUT the sad thing is... this is NOT enough. Jesus Himself says: "Not they that say Lord, Lord... but who DO the will of My Father."

There are preachers who are guilty of leading the flock astray. I have said several times that in case your church needs a preacher for a service, I would love to come and preach God's word. They know that I will rock the church with the power of God when I get a chance... so I'm not asked to preach. One may wonder if they really want to know the truth of God's word, or is it just a matter of belonging to a group/establishment with a religious orientation, thereby fooling themselves.

Church members may be hungry for a Word which speaks personally to them. They may want to hear what GOD has to say, but don't know how to present this to the pastor and speak up. Others who want to be entertained... SPEAK UP... thus entertainment they'll get.

If there is no special event, musical presentation, film night, potluck dinner or corn roast not many will show up. Is this the manner in which the Church leaders bring their members to a closer walk with God? Are you kidding yourself?

Do you really believe that Jesus meant such social events to take place when He said unto His disciples: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you?

How many church goers are searching God's word to find the Truth, or studying the Bible to see if what is preached from the pulpit is in accordance with God's written Word?

O Lord, I throw up my hands and cry: "What has become from your people who use such props thinking they are doing Your work and draw souls unto You?"

No wonder God's word is presented as a history book rather than a "Word" of wisdom, guidance, help and courage for the present time. God's people need to hear that which is practical and relevant for the "now"! This is what is lacking in most churches, and thus it has become more of a social gathering.                               Emotions may be stirred up, but this can be done even when lies are preached. Emotions are not a true guidance to know God's truth in the matter. The truth will be revealed through the Holy Spirit by diligently seeking God and studying His word in prayer, on a regular basis.

This is something that the preacher should explain to his flock, and urge the members to do so. But the "flock" is being starved to death. Nutritious wholesome food has been put on the shelf and instant mashed potatoes, instant pudding, sweet pies and candy has been fed instead. The members have become spiritually obese and incapable to fight the enemy of their soul, satan.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15,16.

The true believers and followers of Christ, are hungry for God's word and His power to sustain them in these last days, and I pray you are one of those seekers of truth. This is another reason why God "caused" me to work through the Internet, as I would not have reached the millions of people had I physically preached.

I had a calling to Brazil, South America before I got married. Didn't know how I was ever to get there being married and having four small children. I became frustrated with the Lord, not knowing that I would be "traveling" the globe (not only Brazil) many times over within a short period of 10 years, through the Internet.

God knew it all along. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Our God is NOT done yet. He will carry us to the unreachable, in whatever manner this will be.

Preachers and pastors may have forsaken their calling, but the time has come now that God will use the unpopular, the unknown, the infamous, the non-celebrities, the plain clothed ones, to bring His Truth and Revelation. It is the willing feet and hands which God needs and will use for His glory. They that are willing to give rather than to take, are the ones our God will use. AMEN!

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7.

It is not needful to wear expensive jewelry, garments and coiffures, drive Rolls-Royces or live in million dollar homes to show we are "somebody". Without Christ we are nothing, remember? But through faith and the power of the Holy Spirit one can move mountains, Jesus says. GLORY!

Jesus had no place to rest His head upon, but a stone. Many have gone astray, lost in their wilderness path and live in the realm of worldly indulgence. They show pride instead of humbleness. They are not leaders of the Church, but have become well paid employees of religious establishments. Jesus says: "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Please, JESUS HELP!

There is BEAUTY in simplicity, believe me! We have to become less so He will increase in our lives. Only then will we see His glory and experience the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:5,6

Is anyone out there paying attention to the words of Christ?

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 3:20-22

Isn't the above scripture worth all and any effort, on our part, to attain that which is promised? May our God and Father, help us and strengthen us to abide in Him, as we completely surrender our lives unto God. Amen!
